William Street SPS Class EA - Tavistock
To support future growth and development in the Village of Tavistock, Oxford County is undertaking a study to identify a sanitary servicing solution in the William Street area of the community.
This process will be carried out through a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) Study. This process will consider a range of alternatives to upgrade the sewage pumping station and/or collection system in the William Street catchment area, and then select the most appropriate conceptual design concept to support ongoing wastewater servicing needs to the year 2046.
Process
Oxford County has retained MTE Consultants Inc. to lead the study. A notice of commencement letting the public know the study has begun was issued on March 7, 2023.
Over this year, the County will consult with the public, Indigenous communities, and regulatory agencies. Any potential impacts of the sewage pumping station upgrade alternatives on social, cultural, economic and natural environments will be evaluated and assessed during the Class EA Study.
Once the study is completed, a report will be submitted to the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation, and Parks and made available for public review for a period of 30 days.
Before any decisions are made, all interested parties will have an opportunity to attend a Public Information Centre (PIC) meeting.
