Update: Bright, Drumbo, Harrington and Plattsville
July 24, 2023
Planned speed management and traffic calming improvements in Bright, Drumbo, Harrington, and Plattsville are being carried out in July 2023.
Bright (Oxford Road 8 and Oxford Road 22)
Speed management and traffic calming measures in Bright include removing the 60 km/h speed transition zones on Oxford Road 8 and extending the 50 km/h speed limit to align with the built-up area of the Village. Electronic speed feedback signs will be installed at all approaches to the Village where the 50 km/h zones begin and community boundary signs will be relocated to better align with the Village limits.
Drumbo (Oxford Road 3 and Oxford Road 29)
The 60 km/h speed transition zones on Oxford Road 3 and Oxford Road 29 will be removed to allow for the extension of the 50 km/h speed zone to align with the built-up area of the Village. Electronic speed feedback signs will be installed at all approaches to the Village where the 50 km/h zones begin. Watch for a new 40 km/h school zone on Oxford 3, equipped with flashing amber lights that activate during set times (when school is in session), indicating a school zone where there are increased fines for speeding.
Harrington (Oxford Road 28)
The 60 km/h speed zone will be extended further east of the 33rd Line along with the electronic speed feedback sign. Watch for new electronic speed feedback signs for westbound traffic in advance of Albert Street and for eastbound traffic mid-block between Albert Street and 33rd Line.
Plattsville (Oxford Road 8, Albert St.)
The 50 km/h speed zone is being extended to the east of Hoffstetter Road, removing the 60 km/h speed transition zone. Motorists will also notice new electronic speed feedback signs for westbound traffic where the 50km/h zone begins and for eastbound traffic east of Platt Street.
