Share your ideas for Oxford County’s future

Oxford County is creating a new Strategic Plan for 2023-2026 to guide its plans for the future: how it will meet the needs of its citizens, how it will maintain our vibrant communities as we continue to grow, and how we will work together as a County to accomplish this. This work will consider Oxford County's current strategic plan , but will also utilize new perspectives to look at our strengths and challenges as a community.

Right now, we're looking for your thoughts and ideas on what should be included in Oxford County's new Strategic Plan.

SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED.

About the Strategic Plan

A municipal strategic plan sets out a municipal government's top priorities and the shared vision for the future of the community. It provides a roadmap for Council, staff, and the community as to what the County wants to be and how it will get there.

The final plan will be a culmination of different ideas, perspectives, and strategic thinking. It will embrace opportunities, identify challenges, and leverage our assets to help us grow and sustain the County for years to come.

About Oxford County

Oxford County has unique strengths as a community of 130,000 people.

  • Our location in the heart of southwestern Ontario at the crossroads of Highways 401 and 403 is a key economic advantage to business and commerce and is a factor in the County's thriving automotive manufacturing sector.
  • We are situated in one of Ontario’s richest areas for farmland, with local agricultural businesses driving innovation, advancing sustainability, and diversifying the local economy.
  • The County offers a thriving local arts, culture and culinary community, as well as conservation parks, natural areas and more than 100 kilometres of scenic trails.
  • Our unique model of government consists of a partnership-oriented, two-tier municipal government across eight area municipalities that are “growing stronger together.”
  • The County is emerging as a leader in sustainable growth through the Future Oxford Community Sustainability Plan and County Council’s commitment to achieving 100% renewable energy, becoming a zero waste community, and working towards zero poverty.

Oxford County provides a range of services to residents, including waste management, water and wastewater services, transportation, roads and construction, human services (housing support, children's services and financial help), paramedic services (ambulance), long-term care (Woodingford Lodge), Oxford County Library, community planning, woodlands and source water protection, tourism, archives, provincial offences administration and more.
